[OPEN BETA] Litchi Pilot

That sounds like a problem with DJI fly on that device nothing to do with Litchi, if it was caused by litchi then this wouldn’t be the case as camera settings are stored in the drone

to reinforce my point I recently had an issue with DJI fly on 2 devices, in that I couldn’t get past the front page, this had nothing to do with any of the 3rd party apps I had installed (Litchi, Dronelink or Rainbow Pro) but down to bad coding on DJI, further info can be found here Issue with Fly app | DJI FORUM

This is highly unlikely as Litchi Pilot is only using DJI’s MSDK to interface with the drone. Also, if something like this were possible, we would have seen it reported by others. But as it is, you are the only one with this issue.

Would you post a screenshot of your tablet running DJI Fly with your drone powered up and connected. Perhaps we can identify something.

Do you have Litchi on the other tablet (the fully functional one)? Its not clear what you meant by your statement.
Are both tablets the same OS (Android, iOS)?

You write that it is unlikely that it is Litchi’s fault because no one reported it. I don’t know how many users are testing the Litychi Pilot beta in the Mini 3 and Samsung A8 set, but I suspect that there are many more DJI Fly users and I have not encountered such a situation on the official forum as well as among several thousand users of these drones on Facebook. I also wrote on the DJI forum.

Yes, I tested it on redmi note 8 pro and redmi note 13 (all Android) and there DJI FLY has a camera preview. Only on the Samsung A8 tablet this preview disappeared. I also installed Litchi Pilot on Redmi 8 and both applications do not harm each other.

In my opinion this is USB related.
Try another cable
and/or
Check the USB-C port of the tablet for accumulated/compacted dust preventing the USB cable from going in all the way (0.1mm can be enough to prevent a connection).

I tried different cables but this is not the way. Since I have the image on the same cable in Litchi and not in DJI Fly, it’s probably not the cable’s fault.

I was hoping to see something in your screen capture that would give a clue but I don’t see anything that helps to diagnose the problem. I do see that your exposure is set to auto and the EV is set to -0.7. That’s not enough to produce a black preview.

I’m sorry but I am at a loss as far as ideas of what might cause this. If this was happening to me, I would power up the drone and controller, go into Litchi, and check all camera settings, making sure they are set to a reasonable value and then try DJI Fly again. If that doesn’t work, I would do the same while in DJI Fly and see if any change in settings brings back the screen preview.

I continue testing the current beta version with the DJI Mini 3 and I find the problem that it does not apply the programmed actions in the intermediate waypoints. In this example I show in the video, at waypoint 1 and 4 it does apply the programmed action (point camera 90 degrees down and take photo), but at waypoints 2 and 3 it has been programmed to wait for 5 seconds and then take the photo and it does nothing. It ignores the actions and continues with the trajectory. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?

In the main project settings you need to set the path mode to straight lines

Please help, why can’t I get this to download on my brand new galaxy A9 tablet? This my first time with android. It’s telling me to download it but it just sits there changing colors Rrrrrrrr

You probably need to enable install from unknown sources in android settings?

Hey Jason, I did that. My wife even made sure. I’ve got several properties lined up to fly, all over 100 acres and my pa4 is about dead. I have to get my mini 3 pro going on litchi. Sorry lol venting

This is fantastic news. If only DJI would hear the pleas of the restless rabble who ask for onboard storage of waypoint GPS data that will enable the Mini 3 family to complete waypoint missions even if RC signal connectivity is lost or interrupted.

Hello,
I would like to ask you to add a clean output (without element control) HDMI for the DJI RC Pro controller.
Looks like in the api it already is:
https://developer.dji.com/api-reference/android-api/Components/RemoteController/DJIRemoteController.html#djiremotecontroller_setsecondaryvideoosdenabled_inline
Can you please add it? Thank you

Litchi Pilot uses SDK v5, NOT SDK v4.

Besides that, did you read the description:

“…It is supported by Phantom 4 Professional, Matrice 200, Matrice 200 series V2, Inspire 1 and Inspire 2.”

and the intro of this thread (post #1):

Litchi Pilot is compatible the following drones:
Mini 3
Mini 3 Pro
Mavic 3E
Mavic 3T

Yes, I have a DJI mini 3 pro drone. I can’t find SDK v5, is there something with HDMI too? It would help me a lot.

Clean HDMI Output is not even available or a priority in the standard Litchi app:

So I highly doubt it will be in the Litchi Pilot app.

I’m very much looking forward Litchi Pilot being released. I would love to have a true Follow Me (Active Track) option for my DJI Mini 3. I’m one of the unfortunates who did not purchase the Mini 3 Pro, assuming the Mini3 had Active Track. My bad for not doing enough research before making the purchase. Anyway, I just installed the Pilot APK, and it is not very intuitive IMO. Any FAQ/documentation or suggestions for someone who is only familiar with the DJI software would be most appreciated.

Sure I will love it in mavic 3e no rounded routes !!!
