When I power up the remote for me Skyrover X1 (DJI Mini 4 Pro clone) there is no option to use Litchi Pilot like there is if I power up my DJI RC-N1 (for Mini 3).
P.S. Assuming you can get it work, it would be good to add “Skyrover X1” to the list of drone types.
What would be involved in getting the Litchi Pro app to work with Skyrover X1 (DJI Mini 4 Pro clone) on Android phone?
Are you able to run Litchi Pilot manually?
I can open Litchi Pilot on my phone (because it will connect to my Mini 3) but it will not connect to the X1 drone. I don’t get the prompt to allow the X1 app to use the USB connection to my phone. If I use my DJI RC-N1 remote with my Mini 3 then when I power on the remote it asks if I want to use DJI FLY or Litchi Pilot.
Sorry, I can’t follow that. Perhaps it is because I am not an Android user. However, your first sentence suggests that you have already tried Litchi Pilot (with the X1 remote?) and it won’t connect to the Skyrover.
What kind of remote came with the Skyrover X1? If it is one with a screen, you would have to install Litchi Pilot on that device. However, if your remote is equivalent to the RC2, you won’t be able to install 3rd party apps on it.
The X1 remote is equivalent to the DJI RC-N1 (no screen). Like the one I have with my Mini 3 (for reasons I won’t bore you with I chose NOT to get the RC with the screen).
Yes, I have tried Litchi Pilot with the X1 remote and my Android phone and it won’t connect and start the app.
Hopefully the LP developers can follow and understand the problem as they are no doubt familiar with Android phones and the DJI RC-N1 and how they connect. I’ll make some screen shots later.
With Android, are you dependent on the app being started for you? With Android, can’t you start the app yourself? I am an iOS user. I can connect a drone and start any app I want (even if I know it won’t work with the drone). I know manually starting Litchi Pilot won’t necessarily make it work with your Skyrover X1. I’m just curious that you seem to be dependent on some action starting the app for you.
Yes I can start the Litchi Pilot app manually on my Android phone, like any other, but it doesn’t connect to the drone like DJI FLY does with my Mini 3.
I don’t know if using LP on an iPhone would either.
I will post screenshots later.
However it will probably need someone (the LP developers) familiar with how Android works to understand the problem.
Not sure if this makes sense if you’re not using an Android phone but this is what I get when I power up the DJI RC-N1 for my Mini 3 Pro. I can choose either DJI FLY or Litchi Pilot.
This is what I get when I power up the Skyrover X1 remote (it is a DJI RC-N1 look-alike, slightly smaller, charcoal color). I can only choose the X1 app, Litchi Pilot is NOT an option. That would suggest that Litchi Pilot is not hooking into whatever is needed in the phone’s USB interface. Hopefully the Litchi developers understand.
Litchi is very unlikely to work with this drone unless DJI adds proper support in the SDK which I doubt would happen.
OK. There are numerous DJI Mini 4 Pro clones showing up now: Skyrover X1, Skyany X1, Fixako. I even heard of a Mini 5 Pro clone. Anyway, just thought I’d mention it as a possibility.
