[OPEN BETA] Litchi Pilot

Yesterday I have tried the Follow function on mini 3 riding a bicycle. It almost met expectations granted it was slow ride and me nervously watching on the side making sure the drone did not fly away. Got approximately 10 minutes of vid recording. One thing that looked strange to me at least was when I did a turn the drone was flying backwards.

Hello, quick question, in waypoint mode, the drone constantly stops at each waypoint to take photos, the mini 4 pro is quite capable of taking clear photos while moving and so I wanted to know if it was possible to make it take photos without stopping, because this multiplies the flight time by 2 or even 3.

When “Path Mode” is set to “Straight Lines”, the drone will stop at each waypoint.

Change “Path Mode” to “Curved Turns”.

Also read the Online User Manual"

Even when using use straight lines, the drone will not stop at waypoints when they are on a continuous line (and there is no action requiring it to stop such as Hover or multiple actions). This was a recent change we made in Litchi Pilot.

Also, rather than using waypoint actions to take photos, you can use the ‘Photo Interval’ flight setting which takes photos on the fly

Ok strange, because I create missions on ancient land (grid) and I import them into the mission hub (old version), after that I put the mission in “Curved Turns” or “Straight Lines” mode and for both the drone stops at each waypoint while only the photo action is configured on it. It would be cool if there was an option for this in the future grid mission planner on the new hub.
Shooting time-lapse photos is indeed a possibility, but the minimum 5 seconds can be restrictive in some cases.
EDIT : With the last update (514) I solved my problem with selecting onboard flight engine.

Hi all

I am wondering if Litchi Pilot is compatible with the RC2 Pro?
I have managed to install it, but the app does not show any image from the camera at all.

Many thanks
Andy

What model drone are you using?

A list of compatible models can be found here:

I can’t select the 48mpx mode for the mini 3. I have to start DJI Fly and when I change it to 48mpx, it also shows up in Litchi Pilot. Until I change the mode. Tested on the latest version.

Hello, I noticed that the litchi pilot app does not update the date and time of the drone (at least on mini 4 pro) when it connects to it, which makes the dates and times of the photos and videos are wrong. You have to open DJI fly for each flight to be synchronized.

Will be fixed in the next beta build. Thanks for reporting it!

Hi everyone. I just purchased a Mini 4 Pro (latest firmware), created a simple waypoint mission with curved turns in the beta version of the litchi hub, but every time I ran the mission using the onboard engine, the drone would not respect the heading and gimbal tilt I selected for each waypoint. They were locked on the heading and gimbal tilt the drone had when I started the mission. Only when I ran the mission using the litchi app the headings and gimbal tilts were respected. Is this a bug with the latest version of litchi pilot (latest beta) or some other incompatibility?

Hello, I just noticed that when you synchronize the flight data with airdata, the battery information is not sent in the flight data.

Should be fixed in the latest beta build 520

Thanks! On a slightly different topic, I purchased the RC-N3 (along with the RC2 controller that came with the drone), only to be able to use Litchi Pilot! Unfortunately every time I change controllers, I either have to unbind RC2 and bind RC-N3 and vice versa, or (as stated on the popup) I am allowed to use the new controller up to five times. Can I bind and unbind the controllers unlimited number of times? Is it preferrable to use RC-N3 without switching to it (if I use Litchi occassionally)? Every time I return to RC2, and back to RC-N3, the five connections limit is reset or not? Thank you in advance!

I can confirm they’ve added it now in latest beta

Couple things I’ve noticed, Fn button doesn’t work for me, I’m not sure if this has always been the case, as i may not have tested it previously.

Also, my phone is beeping everytime the autofocus adjusts.

We upload the DJI flight logs, so most likely a problem on the airdata side?

Thank you for the excellent work you’re doing on the app — it’s really impressive!
Do you have any idea when the Grid feature might be available, and what kind of options you’re planning to include in it?

While we don’t commit to specific release dates, I can say this feature is a top priority.
