[OPEN BETA] Litchi Pilot

This feature is not yet available in Litchi Pilot.

I actually find out, that that is just possible with the full Litchi app. I have a second drone, a Mavic 2, and there it is possible. Thank you for the confirmation.
I’ll fly the spots initially with the Mavic 2, set the the waypoints and in future fly the spots with the Mini 3 Pro. This drone will do better videos, the portable charging is nice and the weight is superb.

Hi
i downloaded Litchi Pilot 1.0.0_BETA-dji (401) today
and have been testing it with my Mini3 everything works except i cannot change from Video to Photo on either my tablet or my phone. I can still switch between them in DJI fly.The button for photo reacts to being touched but does not switch. I have not tried a mission yet to see if auto switching works.

The issue is due to a bug with the Mini 3 (standard only, pro works fine) in the latest DJI SDK, which we have reported. Normal photo mode cannot be set in the latest Litchi Pilot beta build with the Mini 3, and this bug also prevents switching camera modes. However, by switching to AEB or Interval mode in the DJI app, you can then toggle between photo and video modes in Litchi Pilot.

Alternatively, you can also install the previous Litchi Pilot beta build by downloading it here

I tested it with hope but I didn’t notice any changes. Still no support for 48 pix, and the ā€œnormalā€ button for photos doesn’t work at all and I can only do AEB and interval.

48MP is supported for all cameras that support it, if you have any issues with it please let us know your setup so we can investigate. For the Mini 4 Pro, you can’t set the camera to 48MP in Litchi Pilot yet but that will come later (for now you have to switch in DJI Fly).

Thank you for your response. I’m happy to use the work around.

I have a question/suggestion - when using straight-line auto missions on my P3 (in a photogrammetry grid pattern), it often will stop on a waypoint until I pause/resume (as people have described above). What I think is happening is the drone is trying to reach the precise spot of the waypoint, which takes a while when it’s windy, with it overshooting and going back etc.

I have enough overlap in my images that the precision of the waypoint is not that important to me, anywhere within 1m radius or so would be fine. Could we have a setting to configure how close the drone actually has to get to the waypoint to carry out its the action and continue to prevent this behaviour? I understand the curved points work in a similar way, but ideally I’d still want the drone to stop at the waypoint to take the picture.

Is it possible to do active track on lichi pilot?
Have the m4p and with the dji app the closer i can get is 4 meter and was hoping with the lichi pilot i could work the active track closer than 2 meters.

Nice to see follow mode added. Looking forward to testing this with my mini 3.

Yes, it is good to see Pilot fleshing out more. I tried the Follow Me and it’s easy to use and works very well for me.

Hello I wanted to know if you will make the flight mode with focus, that mode that allows you to keep the camera pointed at a point or a target and move the drone as you want, as you did for the Lichi application for the old models, having a mini 3 I do not have this mode and it would be very useful. Thanks for your availability.

It is not the priority to add Focus mode as it has always been the least used mode.

Is working vertical mode on mini 3?

I don’t think there’s a button for it. I guess you’d have to rotate to vertical in dji then switch to litchi

Any idea when this will be added? For me as a filmmaker this is an important feature. I need to see the shot and adjust it if needed live, not behind a computer. Also I use Litchi pilot in the city and for safety reasons I want to be on location to see where the drone flies.

Is there a way to Ā«add waypoint at aircraftĀ» In Litchi Pilot (beta)? I cant find anywhere to do it like in the other app. Is there a workaround if not? (I’m using it on the Matrice 4E and so far it seems to be working well.

It’s not possible to plan live waypoint flights using custom buttons currently but it’s on our todo list.

I reported a similar issue and provided app screen recording, flight log and mission plan so hopefully they can resolve it. Your explanation sounds very plausible. Due to headwind it struggles to get to the exact waypoint.

This issue should be solved in the latest build
