Newbie question, most of the posts center around the requirement of having purchased litchi-pilot app which is android based and its license, but for us folks that are IOS based will the “Litchi for DJI Drones” purchased app provide the same license coverage in order to get all Beta options to work?
Litchi Pilot is a separate app that is currently in open beta and Android-only, so anyone can download and use it without a purchase. Only a Litchi account is required.
If you try it, please feel free to share your feedback in the dedicated thread.
@Kaehn , thank-you for the comeback. I currently have a Litchi account that I established some weeks back, as I made mention in my post, I am currently on a IOS platform (iPad), when looking for Litchi apps there is only one, called “Litchi for DJI Drones” which requires to purchased, does this create a recognized license that will enable currently locked features within both Litchi Hub and beta Hub? Or is there another path?
The app you see on the App Store, “Litchi for DJI Drones”, is our original app and is a separate application that supports older drones (it is available on both iOS and Android).
The new DJI SDK (which supports newer drones) is Android-only, which means “Litchi Pilot” is also Android-only. Because of this limitation from DJI, there is currently no iOS version of “Litchi Pilot” available.
Again thank-you for the clarification, which begs the question, when is IOS planned on getting “Litchi Pilot”? As I cannot be the only IOS pilot out there wanting to be able to enjoy this great product.
Most likely never, because DJI has dropped iOS support for the new Mobile SDK used by newer drones.
If you plan to use newer drones with third-party apps like Litchi Pilot, it would be best to consider investing in an Android device.
If you are looking to do waypoint/mapping/orbit etc flights, there is now an alternative for iOS users which is to plan flights with Litchi Hub and then export and fly with DJI Fly, see this guide How to use Litchi Hub with DJI Fly
@vico , many thanks for the link, In the absence of being aware that there was a guide already, I had just generated a similar walk-thru procedure for SKYROVER users which happens to be a DJI KMZ look alike,
