I’ve read and viewed several places that the right stick is supposed to be able to adjust the speed, higher or lower, of the cruising speed. I have not been able to get that to work, despite following tutorials. I am able to manually control yaw and gimbal pitch, though, when so set. It is the same in reality and the simulator mode.
I’m running v4.20.0-g on Android, controlling Air2s and Mini2
It should be possible to fly faster than cruising speed if:
- In settings Cruising Speed is set lower than Max Flight Speed.
- Cruising Speed is set lower than maximum flying speed of the drone in normal mode.
- Weather conditions (wind speed & direction) allow the drone to fly faster than Cruising Speed.
I never tried to fly slower than Crusing Speed.
(Phantom3, Mavic Pro, Mavic Air & Mavic Mini 1)
Controlling the cruising speed using the remote controller is not yet supported on the new DJI drones (the ones that use DJI Fly). But this will be added whenever we get to it.

This is already two years ago. I would really like this functionality for filming rowing with my Mini 3 pro. I understand that with VSC the sticks can’t be used during a mission. But maybe it is possible to have a slider on the screen during the mission to adjust the speed. The slider goes from 0 to 100% and determines the speed of the drone relative to the speed set in the mission. And this can be changed during the mission.
