When I design a large mapping project in new litchi hub / using litchi bridge to transfer the mapping mission to dji fly app waypoints / the mission has more than 150 waypoints; so the litchi hub export option splits the mission into separate and smaller missions of max 150 waypoints (this is a dji fly app limitation)
when I transfer all of the split missions I lose my file ID (name) when the transfer occurs /. The split missions have that long strange ID label which means nothing to a human
is it possible to edit the ID label in the dji waypoint menu to something useful / or how do YOU learn to make due with that long useless file ID name?
The splitting of the large mission into smaller pieces is a choice. You can choose not to split or you can choose the maximum number of waypoints per mission.
Also, there is no hard limit of waypoints for a DJI Fly mission. I have worked with people who have flown a waypoint mission with more than 900 waypoints using an RC Pro. The limitation is in the resources (probably memory) of the device running DJI Fly. If you have an RC2, a mission with 150 waypoints and waypoint actions is probably close to the limit. If you had a 300 waypoint mission with no waypoint actions, that may also work on an RC2.
How are you transferring the waypoint mission(s)? Are you using Litchi Hub Bridge or doing it manually? In either case, the first thing you have to do is create as many dummy missions as you will be transferring. You should name them in DJI Fly according to what you will be transferring into them. The filename of the waypoint mission is a GUID. That must remain the same as it must match the internal index of missions in DJI Fly.
The filename and the mission name are two separate things. The filename cannot be changed. The mission name is initially set to the date and time and can be renamed to be anything you want.
I am using an RC Plus ( its running a mod firmware RC Pro) running dji fly app & mavic 3 pro.
The mapping mission I created with 4 times obliques had around 700 waypoints When transferring with litchi bridge. I selected 150 waypoint limit and got 6 split missions
i will try re naming date and time in an effort to keep track of executing each mission segment. I got frustrated trying to determine which of the 6 split missions i was selecting and I was not confident I have not missed executing 1 of the 6 missions
On Android, we cannot create new waypoint flights or rename existing waypoint flights in the DJI Fly database. Even updating the preview image does not always work due to DJI Fly caching heavily. All of these issues disappear if you use DJI Fly on iPhone or iPad + you can do it wirelessly (and cloud sync to your DJI RC depending on your country etc).
