For anybody flying a Mavic Platinum using Litchi on iOS: when signal drops during a waypoint mission, I only see options for Return to Home, Hover, or Land. No way to let it continue the mission. Is this just how it works on iOS, or has anyone found a workaround?
Disable “Exit Waypoint Mission on Signal Loss”.
Noel, may I ask if you accepted a DJI firmware update at any time during the past year?
Also, without being specific, can you confirm whether you reside in the EU or UK?
I will become very worried if your reply to both of these questions is in the affirmative.
No, I live in the United States. I have not done a firmware update recently. That being said, I don’t know why I didn’t do this in the first place, but I went ahead and created a waypoint mission going over my property in a zigzag motion so that I could always keep an eye on the drone. I turned off the controller in the middle of the mission, and the drone continued with the mission before returning to the home point. Turned the controller back on near the end of the mission and reconnected pretty quickly so that I could land the drone at the end of the mission.
The mission that I need it for, the drone needs to fly just over 2 miles from the launch point. It has come close every time I’ve tried in the past when flying manually, but I’ve never been able to reach the point of interest (a livestock watering location) before losing connection. But, now I feel pretty confident it will continue with the mission and return to the home point.
unfortunately, the option to exit waypoint mission on signal loss isn’t available in the app on my iPhone.
It will be once you connect the drone.
It worked just fine. Lost signal for about two minutes, but it continued the mission, followed the waypoints and kept filming.
