Thanks to the Litchi team for producing this wonderful tool. My last flight ( Mission Hub - Litchi ) as usual was possible because I could pre-plan, check and then execute (with no surprises). It was partly over the sea which makes my nervous each time (flying over water)! It is amazing how small and capable the drones became (I flew a 249g DJI Mini 2) and how good the small cameras (resolution) are!
After flying fixed wing two seater planes for a few years and planning a route using AGL I still ponder about the “above ground” option in the Mission Hub - what does the tick or no tick actually do in flight?
Lately the biggest issue I have flying these “small” drones relatively far from me (they quickly become invisible) is bird attacks! Flying somewhat higher seems a bit safer…
Thank for your feedback. “Above Takeoff” keeps a fixed altitude relative to the takeoff point, while “Above Ground” adjusts the altitude at each waypoint to follow the terrain, making it better for uneven or mountainous areas. Happy flying, fly safe!
Unfortunately DJI has abandoned SDK support except for the enterprise drones and the one consumer drones series, the Mini’s. Very disappointing and frustrating especially for those needing a higher tier drone like the Air 3 series or Mavic Pro series. Not sure what they are thinking but I’d guess they have lost a lot of consumer sales due to this. Crazy world. Just my thoughts. Enjoy.
