When I generate a waypoint mission for aerial survey it generates a lot of waypoints.
Most actually unnecessary as I discovered. For our purposes we don’t need these hundreds of waypoints.
150 waypoints the DJI fly on the RC2 becomes rather sluggish and >250 unresponsive.
What we found out, since we fly at 50m elevation, is that only every 10m in elevation we need a new waypoint to ensure the level of detail remains at our standard.
So let me show you, the original waypoint mission Litchi generated has almost 400 waypoints.
And then we simplify it with our actual needs.
A feature at generation to only add a point every 10-elevation meters would be appreciated.
or a setting like: max waypoints and then your algorithm will generate the best possible to keep it within these nr of waypoints.
Both would be nice settings how we as users can influence the generation of waypoint missions.
