Reduce Live Streaming Bandwidth in Litchi App

Hello,

I am using the Litchi app for live streaming from my DJI drone and I want to reduce the bandwidth used for the live stream.

Current setup:

  • Drone: DJI Mini 2 SE

  • App: Litchi

  • Streaming protocol: RTMP

  • Network: Private LTE network

  • Server: RTMP server running on Ubuntu

Currently the live stream from the drone consumes around 3–5 Mbps per user. I want to reduce the bandwidth because the stream needs to be shared with multiple users.

My questions:

  1. Is there any way in the Litchi app to reduce the streaming bitrate?

  2. Can the streaming resolution or FPS be reduced inside the app?

  3. Is it possible to stream a lower bitrate feed directly from the drone?

  4. Are there any recommended settings for low-bandwidth networks?

There is a setting to reduce the bitrate:

RTMP Live Streaming Bitrate : Select a bitrate for RTMP Live streaming. A lower bitrate may help if you have a slow connection.

You can change it between 1, 2 and 3.5Mbps or Auto.

Resolution can only be changed for some drone models, not Mini 2 SE.
