For a Phantom 3 Pro the switch has to be in F-mode AND in the DJI GO app enter the “Camera” page, and tap “Mode”, then activate “Multiple Flight Mode”.
Most likely caused by the above (switch 2 & DJI GO).
The Phantom 3 Standard is NOT a VSC-drone (Virtual Stick Commands).
The Phantom 3 Standard IS compatible with Litchi.
Start by reading “Connecting Litchi to your drone” in the “Litchi Online User Guide”:
Bonjour, l’interrupteur que vous cherchez est le S1. Il a 3 positions P, A, F. Le F est celui le plus près de vous. Dans le manuel d’utilisation du drone vous avez la réponse a toutes vos interrogations. Cordialement.
I fly waypoint missions on the Phantom 3 Standard using Litchi all the time. The switch in the upper-right of the controller must be switched toward you (the front of the controller).
Here is footage from the city of Baltimore, whose cityscape is the playground of the legendary Dirty Bird, whose flotillas of DJI drones have been flying extremely complex Litchi waypoint missions that are better seen than described.
During the early years of Dirty Bird’s sideline career as a renegade drone pilot, the mystery man cited the Phantom 3 drone as his favorite DJI drone from the standpoint of mission-aloft longevity, thanks to the light weight of the Phantom 3 Standard in comparison to the slightly heavier Phantom 3 variants, namely the Professional, the Advanced.
In the footage below, a pair of Phantom 4’s fly extensive and convoluted Litchi flight paths over Baltimore with precision and timing that have become hallmarks of Dirty Bird’s aerial exploits.
The short answer to the question of whether a Phantom 3 can fly Litchi missions is an emphatic YES. Furthermore and from personal experience, I can attest that a Phantom 3 Standard will fly Litchi waypoint missions covering 6 miles of distance round trip with ease, provided the cruise speed is set for 25mph.
This is my Drone btw, i bought it from some guy, are we sure it’s a phantom 3? It flies fine with the app, camera etc all works i just can’t upload a mission
That’s because you have insufficient satelites locked (Position- & Function Mode are NOT available when there’s NO GPS lock).
-Enable multiple flight modes in DJI GO
-Set S1 in position 3 (F-mode), wait until the home point has been set (slow flashing green aircraft status indicator).
-Start your waypoint mission.
I took the P3 Standard outside and got 7+ satellites and put it in all possible S1 switch positions, the bottom one gave me F-GPS (function mode??) but then when I connected the DJI sample app to try waypoints, I always still get the “Failed to upload mission, Navigation mode not Available” error.
