Today, while performing an orbit flight, I noticed that when taking photos facing the central POI (the center of the orbit), the drone was not correctly pointing at the POI
I have noticed the same thing. The heading should point to the right more if the drone is orbiting clockwise, and should point more to the left when rotating counter clockwise. It’s quite a significant offset that should be corrected. @vico
We are aware of this issue and it’s something we are working on for a future update.
In the meantime, you could achieve better accuracy by either reducing the speed, increasing the radius, or both.
Any updates on this topic?
No further progress at this time. We have a good idea of how to fix it and did some preliminary testing outside but priorities have shifted lately to improve support for KMZ workflows
Sorry for the repeated follow-up, but this is very important for the way I use the software. Is this something likely to be looked at in the near term?
Another question: is there any plan to support, multiple mission types within a single flight, such as combining a grid/map mission with a waypoint mission?
Which drone model are you using? We are more likely to first add support for orbit/spiral via the onboard engine so if you are using a Mini 4 pro then that would likely solve your issue.
There are no plans to support multiple mission types in a single flight at this time, I’m not sure what’s the use case for that? Why not start 2 separate missions one after the other?
It seems also likely you would be limited by the battery anyway.
Yes, my drone is a Mini 4 Pro, and I bought an RC-N3 controller just so I could use Litchi.
You can use Mini 4 Pro + RC-N3 + Litchi Pilot with Onboard mode
