In Google Maps the copyright date is always displayed at the current year no matter what the actual date of the imagery is. Normally, the most recent imagery is shown unless Google decides that the detail is not sufficient. It was just a coincidence that Google decided to revert to better (older) imagery in your area at the same time we were looking at it.
