Litchi does not connect to Mavic Pro on OnePlus 7T, LG G4

Hi,
unfortunately, according to my experience it is very random which phones work well. I have Mavic Pro.

  • OnePlus 7T (Android 12): does not connect
  • LG G4 (Android 6): does not connect
  • Huawei P10 (Android 9): connect OK, camera OK!

Verdict: one out of three phones is not a good result.

On all of my phones (Samsung J5 not tested yet) I can log in, check the license and download the DJI database. Google Maps is also working, location, permissions ok.

Huawei P10 is quite a small phone for this kind of use with my eyesight. Of course flying it not relying on the camera feed, but confirming focus and framing and doing settings is difficult.

I also have iPad Mini 2, but I will not buy Litchi separately for it, as iPad’s screen brightness is poor for daylight flying. Using the iPad only randomly, with DJI Go.

Would be nice to know which factors affect the connectivity. It’s a bit tricky to test a new (or even used) device with Litchi before buying

Litchi is supposed to connect to the controller, not the drone.
The controller connects to the drone.

Post a screenshot for each device.

All these do not require a connection to the controller (drone).

The most common factor is USB related:
-Faulty USB cable
-Faulty USB connector on controller and/or phone
-Dirty USB connector (accumulated dust and/or lint).

Thank you!

This has seemed an impossible problem. The original red OnePlus USB-C cable has always worked without problem, with any computer or device I plug it in. It still works fine with computers, meaning data transfer. Also the same cable works between the DJI controller and Huawei P10, Litchi connects always well. This would suggest that both ends of the cable are ok.

LG G4 has micro USB port, and the cables I’ve tried so far did not work even on computer, so that was a definite cable issue. LG is proven now working with yet another cable I found. I guess there could be issues with cable quality vs. the length of the cable. I will do my best to clean everything, trying to make the OnePlus up and running later, but so far it seems this case is SOLVED.

Thanks, Sami
