Hi all, I have been flying my DJI Mavic 2 Pro with the Litchi app and was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the drone not landing at its takeoff spot? When my drone returns from a mission or return to home, it always wants to land a few feet away from the spot it had taken off from.
When using the “Precision Landing” feature, the drone should land within inches of the take-off location. In order to use “Precision Landing”, the drone must have recorded its home point before taking off. Also, when taking off, the drone must travel at least 7m (21 ft) vertically before traveling horizontally (it is not necessary to pause or hover). It must also be light enough for the sensor to resolve the take-off location. There are a few more requirements but these are the main ones.
I fly a Mavic 2 Zoom with Litchi and have no problems.
Is that an automatic feature or in the settings somewhere? Looking for it. Also, after I get the audio cue that the homepoint has been set, I will lift off around 40 feet vertically.
Precision Landing is automatically performed if you meet all of the requirements. It is described in the Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom user’s manual.
You have to Enable it in “Aircraft Settings”.
Ok, found it and it was on “enabled”.
Tried this a few times. Still not landing in the spot it took off from. It goes to the general area, (like a few feet off) and tried to land there instead.
Without any details it is hard to tell you why and all we can do is guess. Did you follow the steps outlined in the manual in the “Precision Landing” section? Was this flight done in sufficient light (daytime)? Did you ascend vertically at least 7 meters before moving horizontally? Did the take-off location have distinctive features that the vision sensor could recognize? Did you move the sticks at all during the landing process?
Did a few more flights. All same results. I had one flight today where the home point were set over 10 feet away. I followed all the steps and it was daytime. I did not move the sticks during landing.
Does this happen in one area? Or in other areas several miles (or km) away, also?
I havent tried a different area yet.
Possibly some kind of interference in that area.
I’ll work on setting up some different areas to test.
