ok what am i doing wrong, i create a waypoint mission at my flying area on the web page hub, then on the rc2 i create a mission of 2 waypoints at my house, then i use the export system to rewrite the waypoint flight but i end up with a mission ending at my house?
Did you close the DJI Fly app before performing the overwrite?
You can find the full guide here.
.
close the app? got it, just go back to the home page on the rc2 app. might want to add that to the instructions as it may confuse people.
The DJI Fly app on the RC2 does not have to be closed while transferring a mission. However, the waypoint mission being replaced on the RC2 must not be loaded and displayed in DJI Fly while attempting to overwrite it. Instead of closing DJI Fly, just make sure that the mission being replaced is not the currently displayed mission in DJI Fly. Either exit the DJI Fly waypoint interface or temporarily display another waypoint mission that will not be replaced.
About your location issue, make sure to create your dummy flight near the same location as your actual flight area. Otherwise the mission may keep the original endpoint from the dummy mission. I hope Step 3 makes sense now:
Step 3:
3. Place 2 waypoints on the map, preferably near the same location as the Litchi Hub flight
Thanks for your feedback @wesbarris, the guide has been updated,
Step 4 is now:
4. Exit Waypoint Flight Planning mode, then tap “Save and Exit” in the popup.
Thanks all, ive got irt sorted now, ive been playing around trying to see if there is a way to create a mission without the need to actually create a mission, i created it then copied it out of the waypoint folder, thinking that that would work, but for some reason the waypoint folders and files when copied back show no mission available in the app, ive done a before and after comparison of the entire internal card and the only changes are the files that get created with a waypoint mission.
This seems counter intuitive to what i would expect to happen, surely the act of removing and replacing the files/folders should work, but no it doesnt, why though is beyond me, its not like a log file is recorded or changed as that doesnt show when i compare the folders.
Any thoughts on this
DJI may have a database (they’ve used SQLite in the past) to store an index of available missions. The index might include the mission name and a pointer (GUID) to the KMZ file containing the WPML data. Creating a totally new GUID (KMZ file) and placing it into the folder structure will not update DJI’s index and therefor, will not make the mission show up in DJI’s list of available missions.
Indeed this is how it works, and in fact that’s something we already support if you’re on iOS. Just select Create New in the Smart Export UI. Not possible on android as the database is hidden
Thanks for the clarification Vico, i’ll give up with the idea now
