Installing Litchi on a DJI RC PRO is cumbersome and expensive

FIrst off let me start by saying litchi is a quite the impressive software. It’s functional, intuitive, and has been a pleasure to use.

However, in recent days I have come off with a bad taste in my mouth regarding accessing an APK file I already paid for on google play. IMO this should be accessible in the my account tab with a linked google play account. There is an APK tab, but it wants me to re-purchase the APK. Furthermore, it states 26 dollars on that page, but when clicking the link to checkout the price is jacked up to 35 with no explanation as to where the extra 9 dollars was tacked on.

Now that I have an RC PRO, I will never have a use for litchi on my phone again, and the inability to simply access my APK (which operates on the same operating system) is fustrating. Sure there is the Amazon app store, and or re-purchasing the APK through the “APK” tab, but forcing your users to buy another app is not cool.

This is speculative, but I imagine there is an API in google play to verify a google account and cross check it with an account that has purchased the app. I explore with other options in regards to getting my apk. maybe I can extract it from my phone. Finally, I’m not going to fork over 35 dollars for an app I already own that operates on the same OS,

Check out FAQ 10, also note that the Amazon app store, no longer exists, and most of the probglems you are experiencing are down to DJI not litchi

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it.

Respectfully, accessing a validated apk that I bought from Litchi is a Litchi problem IMO.

Also, FAQ 10 offers me nothing I already didn’t know. Maybe you’re not comprehending my problem with the DJI RC PRO? Which is fine, as I imagine for one to fully understand my issue they would need an RC PRO. Anyways, I’ve exhausted all options on the internet for work arounds. Sadly, it looks like I will need to discontinue using Litchi, and can no longer recommend this product within my professional collective… At least at this time.

Honestly, How hard would it be for litchi to create a login validation within their app for existing customers? This most certainly is a Litchi problem that could be solved, but IMO they think this business model is more advantageous for their bottom line.

I believe this is a terrible miscalculation on their part as it limits access, word of mouth, and in turn.. user retention.

Kind Regards,
