Import external kmz/kml files

Hi! I see that the option to import external KMZ/KML files is currently unavailable. Do you know when it will be available?
Thanks!

Hi! I see that the option to import external kmz/kml is not currently available, is it known when this option will be available?

This had been posted into an unrelated thread. I moved it to this thread where you had already posted your question.

Okay. Any information on this?
Thanks.

There are two types of KMZ files:

  1. Google Earth KMZ
  2. DJI Waypoint KMZ

I assume you are referring to the Google Earth variety of KMZ file. All we know at this point is that the Litchi developers are working on the import function for them.

If you were referring to importing a DJI KMZ file type, I doubt that Litchi will provide that functionality (but that is just my guess).

Not that it matters, but I’m curious about your workflow if you are using Google Earth to create a KMZ/KML file of a waypoint mission. I have created a number of Litchi utilities that include an initial shape or layout in Google Earth.

Up until now, I was actually developing a working methodology in which I performed the flight in QGIS and exported the route in .shapefile or .kmz format (Google Earth), then added the heights above the ground and transformed them into DJI’s .kmz format.
I was referring to Google Earth’s .kmz files, so, as I mentioned, I could export the flight pattern to kmz and import it into Litchi Hub to add heights and other parameters.
I’ll be waiting for the update.
Thank you very much.

I am wondering if you have tried my utilities. I have a “Shapefile to Litchi” converter and also a Litchi to KMZ (DJI) converter. You may prefer the Mission Hub option but my utilties could also be used.

That’s exactly how I used to work¡¡ I exported missions from QGIS and translated the formats with your website. So, I have to thank you for your work and congratulate you. Very good work!
