Hub1 mission view behavior after viewing/editing in Hub 2.0

Thank you for releasing Hub 2.0. The new design and features are appreciated.

EDIT: (TLDR) By selecting a newer drone model in Hub 2.0, the mission is converted into a new file format, which Hub 1 is not able to handle.

I opened a mission in Hub2 that was previously created in Hub1. I made two edits: Selected drone model and renamed the mission (I think this is where I went wrong). Now I get what appears to be a corrupted mission in Hub1. I apologize if it has been stated somewhere that missions are not backward compatible, but I was unaware. Let me know if I can provide more details. A screenshot of the corrupted mission in Hub1 is attached.

The reason why I chose to return to Hub1 is because I prefer the slider adjustment for waypoint parameters (especially for visually adjusting heading), and cycling from one waypoint to the next within the edit pane kept zooming out to the full extent.

I just want to add that I’m deeply appreciative of the Litchi team and what they do. They make an absolutely fantastic product.

This topic was not posted with the intention of complaining. I was hoping to provide constructive feedback and list the conditions that led to the resulting behavior.

I’ll be happy to provide more detail, answer any questions, or provide the mission file if requested.

Hi there!
It seems you entered a drone which is in the Litchi Pilot section. In this case, the mission will be converted to the new file format, which is hub 1 not able to handle. Choose a drone in the lower section and the mission will be converted back to the old format. You can edit the mission in hub 1 again.
Hope this helps.

Yes! That was it. Thank you very much for your help.

I will change the currently misleading thread title as this was in fact user error and there is nothing wrong with Hub 2.0.

Again, I do like the new design and various features. The enhanced mission organizational features, such as renaming, and the 3D view is spectacular.

Regarding feedback for the developers: I would very much appreciate the ability to toggle the waypoint parameter adjustment style to a slider, particularly for heading. Lastly, it appears that cycling through existing waypoints in the edit pane will zoom out to the full extent with each waypoint change, which somewhat disrupts sequential editing where the previous behavior was to remain at the current zoom level while cycling to the next waypoint for editing.

Great job nonetheless. Thank you for your hard work and continued development Litchi team!

Regarding the heading, you should be able to change it using a slider if the heading mode is set to Custom/Transition

How do you cycle through waypoints? Using the keyboard shortcut or by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the Waypoint settings? Normally the map should not move when doing either. Also which device are you doing this on?

Thank you for your response, vico.

I am using Google Chrome on Windows.

It seems my problem may have stemmed from jumping into Hub 2.0 and immediately opening a mission created from the legacy Mission Hub. It was at that point I observed the zooming behavior I previously described, as well as a heading adjustment that displayed a graphical ‘plus’ and ‘minus’ button (as opposed to the anticipated slider). I subsequently tested the renaming function and blindly applied a newer drone model to the mission, which led to the behavior described in my first post.

For heading, I use both the graphical arrows and the keyboard. I just tested with a NEW mission and I’m getting the desired behavior when cycling waypoints; the zoom level does not change.

Furthermore, I was able to use the slider for adjusting heading as you described.

I now realize that I was hasty and impatient with my initial test while jumping to conclusions before thoroughly exploring the interface. It seems as though legacy missions are not intended to be edited with the new framework - is that the case?

Lastly, today I’m unable to see any of my legacy missions in Hub 2.0. Yesterday they were all visible. Upon logging in today, I get a spinning status in the Flights pane with no list. I am able to click the + button to create a new flight, but nothing will populate in the Flight list.

Indeed legacy missions should stay as such as the conversion currently is not setup. We will add some warnings about this in a future update.

Did you try to log out and log back in? It is strange that the flights are not showing up. Failing that, try to clear the browser cache. Do let us know if it happens repeatedly

Thank you for continuing to follow up.

I just tried logging in from my home machine and all of my missions are showing.

The issue was with my work machine - I tried logging out, clearing cache, different browser…it was strange.

I was out using Pilot for work yesterday when Build 502 was released - great timing. The imperial units were much appreciated. I installed it and seamlessly kept working. Thank you Litchi team.

I’m thrilled to see the availability of a grid mission. I’ve yet to try it, but I will need it soon to map meadows to locate Sandhill Crane nests. I can’t wait.
