I fly a Mavic 4 Pro with the customary three lens - wide (28mm Hasselblad), medium telephoto (70mm), and telephoto (168mm). I fly sunrise and sunset waypoint routes often. When I craft a route for the wide lens and want the horizon to fall on the lower-third line in the frame (to emphasize the sky over the ground), I adjust the gimbal pitch for all my waypoints to achieve this. I have found that a gimbal pitch of 7° meets this requirement. If the route intends the medium telephoto lens, I change the pitch to 2° to achieve the same lower-third horizon placement in the frame. Having recently switched from the legacy Litchi Mission Hub to the new Litchi Hub, I notice that I can select Drone Model and Camera Lens in the Flight Settings tab. How does this selection affect my waypoint route? Does it affect my gimbal pitch settings (as I have described, above, to maintain a lower-third horizon for each lens)? Does it do something else?
It doesn’t.
No
It changes the FOV during a flight simulation.
Thanks again, TriBar. Is flight simulation a Litchi feature? I have not used this, yet. So, no affect on my DJI Fly KMZ … I’ll keep managing FOV with gimbal pitch.
It’s a feature in the new Litchi Hub.
Click the globe-symbol, then the drone-symbol in the upper right corner of the screen, then experiment with clicking the other symbols.

Right now selecting the lens affects simulation FOV and a few other things like mapping calculations etc.
However when exporting a flight to DJI Fly, you will need to ensure you select the lens yourself in the waypoint global settings, before starting the flight. We hope to automate this soon
