Firefox slowing down - tips?

I get this message where it says: “This page is slowing down firefox” and at that point the page is non-responsive and I have to wait, sometimes up to 30 seconds or even a minute before I can continue.

Any thoughts how to improve this experience?

Thank you

That is a very large/dense mission. The quickest way to reduce the size of the mission and reduce the chance of getting that message from Firefox is to do one of the following:

  1. Increase the altitude
  2. Decrease the forward and side overlaps
  3. Break the mission into smaller pieces

I’m guessing you have several thousand waypoints. Is there something that requires you to have such a dense grid?

yes, accuracy, level of detail, etc.

In the past sometimes there were issues with WebODM not being able to process data and then had to set it to 5cm/px or worse.

We desire 1cm/px and accuracy < 5cm

To achieve this, we need proper overlap, fly low enough for the cm/px..

Anyway break into smaller pieces is fine - tried already with <999 points per survey then it doesn’t really lag noticeably.

Would you share the type of drone (camera FOV), height you are flying at, and overlap percentages? I would like to run the numbers through my calculator.

Sure,

This is what I’m using the QGIS GeoFlight Planner

Which resulted in 10m and 5m at 40m altitude

Those calculations match mine. Unless you can reduce the front and side overlaps, the only thing left to do is break up the mission into smaller pieces. I’m assuming the type of terrain being mapped requires the overlap percentages you are using.

Terrain:
between 940m and 1680m elevation
slopes with vertical walls
buildings overlapping each other total chaotic
dense pine higher up as well as tropical forest down in the valleys

From my perspective very interesting but also very daunting to get good results here.. but I love challenges
