I am requesting two usability enhancements for the Litchi mobile interface during active Waypoint missions to improve situational awareness and operational safety.
1. Active / Last-Passed Waypoint Visual Highlight
-
Proposed UI Change: Highlight the waypoint number icon corresponding to the aircraft’s current target or most recently cleared waypoint. This could be rendered with:
-
A high-contrast color change (e.g., bright orange/yellow fill).
-
A subtle pulsating notification pulse around the active waypoint marker on the map view.
-
-
Problem / Use Case: In complex or dense waypoint grids with dozens of markers, identifying the aircraft’s exact progress along the flight plan can be difficult at a quick glance—especially when operating in bright outdoor conditions. A dynamic visual indicator allows pilots to instantly pinpoint the drone’s position within the route sequence without manually scanning numbered markers.
2. Device System Time On-Screen Display (OSD)
-
Proposed UI Change: Add an optional display toggle in settings to show the mobile device’s local system time (e.g.,
14:32 EST) directly on the top telemetry bar or primary OSD layer. -
Problem / Use Case: Pilots frequently need to monitor real-time clock schedules (for battery management, site access constraints, or airspace compliance) during a flight. Displaying local time directly in the telemetry layer eliminates the need to pull down device status bars or look away from the flight controls and visual line of sight.
