How do I configure the DJI Mini 5 Pro via Litchi Hub to capture photos at intervals of XX meters similar to the settings available on the DJI Mini 3 Pro? Alternatively, is there another method to achieve a comparable result? I plan to conduct a mapping survey of a long river.
Just a thought but the Mini 3 series has the DJI SDK support and can be flown with the LITCHI Pilot app so that ability is available through the Litchi software. The Mini 5 doesn’t have SDK support and a conversion to a DJI Waypoints mission would mean it can’t capture by distance, only timed intervals. The DJI Fly app doesn’t allow distance capture. I fairly sure this is why.
DJI Fly (used by the Mini 5 Pro) stores waypoint missions in the WPML format. WPML does support both time and distance intervals. However, DJI’s implementation does not support time or distance intervals in waypoint missions.
Based on the drone’s speed and the distance interval desired, convert that to the equivalent time interval and configure that manually before executing the waypoint mission. Once the mission is started, take a photo which will start the timed interval.
Litchi Hub now lets you select the photo time interval you wish to use and automatically calculates the speed. Or if you prefer, set your speed and the interval is automatically selected for you. No need for any manual conversion, just need to remember to start the interval capture manually when the flight starts as we can’t program it in for DJI Fly.
