DEMs in the new HUB

Hello, so I was wondering how DEMs are handled in Litchi.

I managed to plan a flight with a high res DEM and I find the process a bit confusing.

When I import a DEM its previewed as a blue square on the map, but upon reloading the website the square is gone. I presume the dem is kept in session only temporarily.

I find especially confusing that the missions don’t state if they are using an external DEM or the internal Litchi online elevation data. Would it be possible to make this clearer? Ideally keeping DEMs uploaded, but I guess this might take a lot of storage space, thus I propose a way of configuring the mission to use either: internal online data, custom imported DEM, or no data.

I agree, it is a bit confusing.

It is both temporary and persistent. It is temporary in that the DEM is not saved with the mission. It is persistent in that the only way to remove the DEM is to restart the Mission Hub session.

If you have the “Above Ground” option selected and you are placing a waypoint or POI over the area covered by the DEM, the DEM will be used to compute the above ground elevation. If you are not using a DEM but have the “Above Ground” option selected, an elevation query will be used to compute the above ground elevation.
