I think it would be really useful to be able to upload custom basemaps to the planner site and pilot apps. This could be both for adding higher resolution ortho imagery to an area that you are capturing frequently. Or to add custom maps with annotations or custom styling for any kind of specific use case.
Great idea. I’d like such a feature. I’m doing a lot of historical research and would like to use historic maps as basemaps.
I support the ability to import some sort of custom reference layer. I use Litchi to document landscape features that I develop/track with GIS, and sometimes it’s difficult to plan missions that precisely correspond to the GIS.
I often get away with the Google basemap as a comparative reference, but there are many scenarios where I’m left planning missions rather blindly. I’ve started to use Wes’s shapefile conversion to establish an anchor, but the ability to import KML polygons as a basemap reference would be hugely appreciated. While Litchi is already a fantastic platform that I am very grateful for, the addition of a custom reference import would make it a one-stop shop for me!
