Course Lock ~ Mavic 2 Pro?

Hi! I Had Litchi years ago with my Phantom 3 Advanced. The single feature I found the most useful was Course Lock. Right stick forward moved my drone in the direction I specified. . I could vary the speed and even the course as well as yaw my drone to keep the POI where I wanted it. Is this feature NOT available now for Mavic 2 Pro? Why would Litchi drop this incredibly useful feature unless I’m mistaken? Please tell me I’m missing something and it’s there. . I just can’t find it. . thanks!

The Mavic Air (jan. 2018) was the last drone DJI (NOT Litchi) supported Course Lock in their SDK and DJI Go 4.

Hey Tribar ~

Thanks for the reply and info. Wow. .I’m not quite sure how that works. . I know my Phantom didn’t have the course lock feature in the DJI app but when I was using Litchi, Course Lock was available. Are you saying that the Litchi app somehow taps into a course lock feature that’s already “loaded” on the drone itself and the DJI app just didn’t utilize it, then after the Jan 2018, DJI decided not to included the feature on the drones? Either way, it won’t change the fact. . I’m just curious how it works and I might just look for an older drone with the best camera that’ll support Course Lock just for the heck of it. . looks like a Mavic Air is going for around $300 - $400 on Ebay right now? Thanks again

Yes it does (page 56 in the user manual).

NO, like I wrote: in the SDK & DJI GO (4) app.

Hey TriBar ~ thanks again for your quick and informative response! I was about 99.9% sure I didn’t have it when I got my Phantom 3A. . I did a bit of digging. . apparently, that feature wasn’t available on the Phantom 3 until DJI released a firmware update in September, 2015 and I’m also pretty sure I got by Phantom prior to that. I was obviously unaware that those features were added ~ Duh! Since it’s a Firmware update, wouldn’t that indicate that the feature actually does reside on the drone itself? Hey, I’m learning . . thanks again for the info  PS I also read somewhere that Litchi will continue missions even if the signal is lost up to the Mavic 2. . after that, if it loses signal, the mission will terminate the drone will RTH. . that would also seem to be a Firmware issue, yes?

All DJI drones that use the DJI GO (4) app CAN continue a mission when signal lost.
DJI drones that use the DJI Fly app ONLY when used outside the EU.

Regardless what app you use.
