I have Litchi Pilot for my M3E. Will there be the option to carry on mission of signal lost any time soon? Litchi for my M2pro has this option.
Unless I am mistaken, DJI’s Enterprise drones were all blessed with an SDK that makes possible the continuation of waypoint missions after signal connectivity to the RC controller has been interrupted or lost, so my speculation is that like your M2P, the M3E is capable of true autonomous flight during waypoint missions.
That very kind of you to reply. I will try again and turn the controller off during the mission.
Cheers
Blayne
Just to be on the safe side, create a short waypoint mission all within visual range, and after selecting the option for the drone to “continue” waypoint missions upon RC signal loss, launch the drone and then see how it responds when the RC controller is turned off.
If the drone makes a bee-line for the launch point when the RC is switched off, my hypothesis might be wrong, and this drone might not be configured for true autonomous flight.
If the drone continues the waypoint mission beyond the moment when the RC controller was switched off, then Bob’s yer uncle and the drone can be relied upon to complete waypoint missions independently of the controller’s being on or off, and will only default into RTH in the event of low battery.
I think I’ll hide behind a wall
THAT DIDN’T WORK! M3E simply goes RTH and does not finish mission. Also got confirmed the there is no Cell dongle that works with the M3E
If you are certain that you set the drone to continue the mission after signal loss, then I am at a loss as to why a DJI Enterprise-level drone is not completing a mission after an RC signal interruption or loss.
Unless I am mistaken, DJI’s Enterprise drones are listed among their drone model lineup as capable of storing all waypoint mission GPS data on board, making them capable of completing missions with or without RC connectivity.
There may be a setting that was overlooked and is still configured to default the drone to RTH upon RC signal loss, but this is speculation on my part since I have never owned a DJI Enterprise-class drone. More knowledgeable contributors to this forum may be able to shed light on the cause of this apparent anomaly.
I will send you a screen shot when I get to the office. No “continue mission option” unlike Litchi on the M2pro
It just occurred to me that you might reside in the EU where the “Continue” option for waypoint was stealthily disabled by DJI by deploying the usual Trojan Horse of a “firmware upgrade” that was recently sent out to ensnare all DJI-Fly drone owners resident in the EU.
If you do happen to reside in the EU and consented to download a recent DJI Fly “firmware upgrade”, the prognosis is not good if sending your drone beyond the RC signal range listed among your system requirements.
Does DJI Pilot 2 provide the “Continue Mission” option for signal loss during a waypoint flight? The M3E manual does not make this clear like it does for the standard Mavic 3.
