Camera panning problem

Hi there,

just testing new Litchi features but there’s one thing I haven’t noticed before. When I create a waypoint flight for my Air 2s and execute it I have noticed that camera movement or panning from one spot to the other is not smooth. These are not huge movements. I create small transitions, but it comes out not smooth but rather choppy. In settings I leave it at waypoint defined. Any ideas?

Thanks!

The movements that you describe are due to control signal latency between the controller and the drone. This is a bi-product of VSC (Virtual Stick Controls) implemented in drones that do not support native waypoints. While these movements cannot be eliminated, they can be minimized by:

  1. Flying in calm (not windy) conditions
  2. Flying at a lower speed.
  3. Flying with the controller as close as possible to the mission.

Could you please share your flight so we can take a look and help you?

Sure! Can you specify how to export it for upload here?

isn’t Air 2s supported :exclamation_question_mark:

Air 2 S is supported. I have one. They are great, but they have limitations.

The stability of flight is TOTALLY dependent on the control signal between controller and drone. As Wes mentioned, a number of factors can interfere with the control signal.

Read the differences between On-board waypoint models and VSC models.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with the signal. It’s basically full signal. Problem is camera/gimbal moves which should be all smooth but they are not completely.

You are probably saying this because the little signal icon on the display shows full bars. As I mentioned in my previous post, the issue is the result of latency of the signal in Virtual Stick drones. Unlike drones with native waypoints (drones that allow the entire mission to be loaded into the drone), VSC drones require flight commands and positional feedback be continuously transmitted between the drone and controller as the flight progresses. The slightest signal latency is observed as un-smooth movements in the drone.
