Anything faster?

I use Litchi to capture motorcycle riding in the desert on a Mavic 2 Pro. The critical feature for me is setting speed to zero and being able to adjust mission speed to rider pace. It’s just not quite fast enough when the trail straightens a little and the riders hit the gas. If I could get 5-10mph more, I’d be lovign it. Sport mode on the Mavic is plenty when I’m flying manual, but can’t use with Litchi.

Do I have any other options? Software? Hardware? Are there any settings I can tweak to get max top speed?

Thanks,

No.

Autonomous flights are hard coded to the maximum speed in Position Mode with Obstacle Avoidance On.
According to the User Manual on page 13 this speed is 31 mph (50 kph).

You could try the method mentioned in the video below but instead of changing tripod mode to atti mode, change position mode to sport mode.
or
Find the maximum tilt (attitude) angle in position mode, which is 25°, and increase it to the value of sport mode.
(In the manual on page 13 it’s called “maximum flight altitude angle”, that’s a typo and should read “attitude angle”).

You need:

  • DJI Assistant v1.1.2
  • A firmware installed that allows debugging.

Maximum Firmware Version: 01.00.0797

If you have any questions about this, use a search engine, or search for “Mavic 2 Hack” or simular.

Very interesting. Has anyone tried this?

ABout 2 months ago, I tried that Drone Hack deal on my Mavis Air 2S… WOW… what a difference it made in everything… go here and read up about it, and decide; https://drone-hacks.com/ . It was definitly worth it for me. I was mainly concerned about those dang GEO zones. I live in a small town that is right near (within 1 miles for me) that is an old abandoned WWII Air Base. So I could not originally even fly my drone at my home. The drone hack works not only on those, but in speed, transmitter power, GEO zones, etc. Good luck with everything
