Any Way to Create a Litchi Mission to Video Pan 360° While Hovering at a Waypoint?

Greetings. I searched the forum and Wes’s utilities but found nothing to create the above mission. For example, the UAS flies to a waypoint, hovers, starts video recording, then starts a slow panning rotation 360°, stops recording, and proceeds to the next waypoint to repeat a similar pan. Ideally, each of the pan shots will be at the same rate of rotation, such 1° per second. I would appreciate suggestions from anyone please. I can fly it with a Mavic 3 Pro, an Air 2S, or even a P4P. Thank you in advance!

I have not created a utility like that. It would not be that difficult to create but there are limitations. For example, there is no way to rotate the heading of a drone at a given rate at a single waypoint. A work-around would be to have the drone fly a circular pattern of waypoints spaced close together while the heading of the drone is always pointing away from the center of that circle.

Could something like this work? It’s a very tight orbit (which is what I I use to pan), speed at 1, start recording at POI 2, stop recording at POI 3.

It should work but a couple points of clarification:

  1. One doesn’t start or stop recording at a POI. Instead, you start or stop recording at a waypoint. I’m guessing that is what you meant.
  2. In order for a panning drone to capture usable video footage, the panning speed must be extremely slow. I think you will find this difficult to do. If you do get usable footage, let us know.

Very true. For example, if you travel a circle of 6 ft diameter at 0.2 mph, it will take 64 seconds.

If you travel much faster, the video will be a constant blur

Waypoint, yes…my bad.

I’ve created a short WP-Mission to get a 360-Vid

-> Litchi Hub

The Main-Idea was, to have a WP for every Heading (here only four) directions facing to East/North/West/South.
Note: Put the four WPs with four Headings to the exact Coords, the Drone won’t rotate at this point!

Perhaps this helps?

Is there a possibility to zoom in more into for placing the WPs closer together?

Unfortunately google map’s max zoom is a bit restrictive and I don’t think we can go further.
