with the continual steps of a possible DJI ban, is there ANY effort to add other drone manufacturers to the Litchi list? What about ANZU? It’s essentially a DJI Mavic 3E, but I know the software is different.
I should think it will mainly depend on whether the other drone manufacturers release an SDK that litchi could work with, and even then it would probably have to be yet another version that folk would have to pay for separately
The way this looming DJI ban is shaping up, it will more likely have the effect of prohibiting the import of newer post-2024 DJI drones into the USA, while the rest of the world will continue to freely purchase any newer DJI drone model they wish, perhaps with a few of those grey market purchases eventually finding their way to US shores, thanks to the magic of smuggling.
Venturing deeper into the realm of unfounded speculation, I foresee a steep rise in prices of DJI’s older models in the USA, so with this in mind, I recently purchased several older DJI drones used from eBay, of which only the Air 3 was a recent model. Thus, I am now the proud owner of two Mavic 2 Pros, one Mavic 2 Zoom, three Mavic 1 Pros, one Mavic Pro Platinum, two DJI Air 1s, a Phantom 3 Standard, and a Phantom 3 Professional.
In other words, I am fully prepared for the end of the world that Mad Vlad has promised us all, and not only that, I am all geared up to film the demise of normality as we know it, in glorious legacy 1080p video that will impart an artistic soft focus to all footage recorded that I post online for fellow survivors of Armagheddon to enjoy in the comfort of their defensive bunkers located in South Dakota and other such picturesque locales.
