Waypoint Heading Alignment Issue in Litchi Beta for DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise

Dear Litchi Development Team,

I would like to report a waypoint heading alignment issue observed while using the Beta version of Litchi with the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise.

Currently, when a waypoint heading is set, the aircraft appears to fly approximately 1 degree to the left of the intended heading direction. This slight offset affects the accuracy of corridor mapping, inspection, and survey missions where precise camera alignment is critical.

I kindly request that the waypoint heading be corrected so that the aircraft automatically flies exactly through the center of the waypoint heading direction, or alternatively provide a heading calibration option to compensate for any offset.

Expected Behavior:

  • Aircraft heading should align precisely with the waypoint heading.

  • Automatic flight path should follow the exact centerline of the planned route.

  • No left-side deviation from the programmed heading.

This improvement would greatly enhance mission accuracy for professional survey and mapping applications using the Mavic 3 Enterprise.

It is highly unlikely that Litchi Pilot (or Litchi, or the Mission Hub) has a heading alignment error.

With how many drones have you experienced this alignment issue?

I have three drones. With one of them I too experience a slight heading alignment issue. Some things you can try:

  • Perform a gimbal calibration using the DJI app
  • Manually adjust the gimbal yaw using the DJI app

In my case, a gimbal calibration did not remedy the alignment issue. A manual adjustment of the gimbal yaw does fix it but only for that flight. Once powered off and then back on, the alignment issue persists.

I have three drones and none of them are exactly straight when auto calibrated. All three have been manually adjusted and set to anywhere from about 1 to 2°. They are anywhere from about 3 to 6 years old. My understanding is once set it should remain set in the drones firmware. I could be wrong but in my experience over the years they have never changed back. Wes is much more knowledgeable than me but not sure why his drones revert back. From what I’ve read over the years a large amount of pilots experience the gimbal being off and need to manually adjust them. Enjoy.
