Two questions re new beta with Mini 4 Pro support

Super seeing the new beta hit almost immediately when the MSDK support dropped publicly. Great work! Thanks!

Two quick questions. Is the beta flying waypoint missions on the M4P by uploading waypoints or by flying virtual stick? If uploading, I assume the “continue if lose rc connection” mode will work? (outside the EU, anyway).

Is there any way to create a completely new flight plan without Internet being available? That is, can you create, edit, and locally store a flight (assume hub sync is off) without using the Internet at all?

Thanks again!

Q1: you can do both, by default the Litchi engine is used, but you can enable the DJI engine which uploads to the drone and allows flying beyond signal loss (if enabled)

Q2: currently internet is required for planning. The plan eventually is to make the Hub that’s built into the app work offline

Thanks very much! Full local planning capability would of course be extremely useful for situations in unconnected areas where an unanticipated mission becomes necessary.

Can you point me at the procedure for switching to the DJI engine? Are there any negative ramifications/restrictions to using it vis-a-vis the native engine?

Thanks again.

In Litchi Pilot, tap on the settings button top right, then Drone settings, then scroll down and enable ‘Use DJI waypoint engine’

With DJI’s engine, the flight is uploaded to the drone, so this allows continuing after signal loss. DJI’s engine has a different way of calculating the path for curved turns and there may be other small differences. The main negative is that in future builds, we’ll add some features which can’t be done with the DJI engine, such as Orbits etc

To understand the difference, see this page:

Thank you very much!

Not having any way to create a local mission in the complete absence of Internet is a significant issue for me. Is there any workaround that would provide a way to copy in a mission created locally in some other way, or to save a mission locally created in Litchi Pilot, even if it involves copying files manually via file management apps or the like – until actual native support is available? Thanks!

One way is to use the old Litchi app to plan, then in Litchi Pilot you can import the file in the flight browser (import button at top right corner).

Excellent. Thanks much!
