If there is any truth to this news coming out of China, the global repercussions will be swift and devastating to the drone hobby. What do y’all think ? Is this a hoax?
From what I could make out it is banning them, and the sale of them within Beijing, not the whole of China

One can only hope that China’s ruling party doesn’t expand the ban to include a prohibition on the export of drones. With this scenario in mind, I will be doing a little panic buying over the next few days.
They would never ban the export of drones, I mean, imagine all the intelligence the would no longer be able to to gather

Apparently only drones over 250 grams are affected - the rest must all have a “live ID” but that is only for China as far as I know…
Perhaps Elon will buy them and move them to Texas also! 
Don’t like getting into discussions like this on the forum but I think Elon should create his own drone company and put a serious dent in DJI’s profits. DJI has already lost billions of dollars in the last couple years and their value is way down. Elon already has much of the knowledge and technology and could make even better top quality drones and especially batteries which he already has the incredible technology. An estimated net worth of 700 to 800 billion dollars would be pocket change for him. Im sure as most of what he has rested the drones would be just as good and more than likely better then DJI. If he added SDK for all his drones he would be the go to drone company since DJI has abandoned SDK for the majority of their drones. Anyway, enjoy.
