It’s not just not editable, it’s not accessible/visible at all, for Litchi or for you as the device owner. That’s for all android devices, not just RC2. If you want the best experience, use iPhone or iPad. Then you can create new flights, rename, delete etc directly from Litchi Hub, wirelessly and without performance issues due to low end specs as is the case with RC2.

Forgive what is probably a stupid question, but if I use an iPad, is the idea that I then fly from the waypoint mission from the iPad?
Yes you would fly using the iPad. Although one might be able to export the flights to an iPhone or iPad, then use the DJI Fly cloud sync to sync with a RC 2. That means you could in theory export to iPhone/iPad (and get all the additional benefits of doing so) then sync and fly with RC 2. I have not tested that workflow but it should work (waypoint cloud sync must be enabled in the DJI Fly settings).
Both the KMZ file and the image file (JPG) are stored in a file structure which is easily accessible. DJI uses a database (SQLite?) to store the mission names with a pointer to the KMZ and mission thumbnails. I have searched for the location of this database and cannot find it in the accessible file system. For unknown reasons, DJI has it hidden from consumer access.
That makes sense.
So, I don’t want to muddy up this thread more than I already have, but I’d like to get a better understanding of using an iPad. From the guide above I understand how to get KMZ files to it, but what then? How does it either replace or interact with the controller? All I can find through Google is using the iPad as an external monitor. Thanks for all the help!
You install DJI Fly on the iPad and connect it to a compatible DJI Nx controller.
In 2025 DJI added the ability to sync waypoint missions between devices running DJI Fly. Therefore, in theory, you could use the Litchi Hub Bridge to sync waypoint missions from Litchi’s Mission Hub to an iPhone/iPad running DJI Fly. Then, that same waypoint mission would automatically sync to an RC2 (or equivalent) which is also running DJI Fly. Then, you would use the RC2 to fly the mission.
The syncing process between devices running DJI requires that you are logged into DJI Fly using the same DJI account on both devices. Also, this syncing process is not available to users in the USA.
I have not tried this. It would be interesting to see if this actually works.

So I just tested this and unfortunately it seems the DJI RC 2 cannot sync waypoint flights from the cloud (in UK at least). I can’t find the setting in the DJI Fly app on RC 2…
EDIT: 30 minutes later I just updated to DJI Fly 1.21.0 on RC2 and now the setting is there… maybe DJI is reading this thread? aha! So the workflow does work and I’d recommend using that since exporting to iPhone/iPad enables many more options in Litchi Hub.
Hi. I’ve just started using the Litchi Hub, following the instructions here. Although I can see the waypoints saved into the DJi RC2 controller through the hub, I can’t see the waypoints on the controller itself. I’ve tried using a Mac and a Windows laptop, save result.
I’ve also tried dropping the files into the Android folder within the controller, and they still don’t show up. I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro. Can you advise me, please? Thanks.

Just caught this update. Now all I have to do is move to the UK. Honestly, after my family moved to the US 125+ years ago, this functionality might be enough for me to pack up our remainders and jump on a boat! I hear Hull isn’t what it was back then, however.

Hey, this is great, it really helps, thank you! It’s much better than manual mission overwrite. However, I still struggle to identify the missions on the controller (I use RC2 Pro). For my workflow, where I prep 10-20 missions for one shooting, I need to identify them by name. Now I know mission names are impossible to export/import due to DJI’s idiotic naming approach (actual mission’s name stored inside inaccessible folder), but I noticed that after updating the mission, the date/time inside the Controller’s missions list does not change. Is it possible to also change this to current date/time? Would make the manual renaming of the missions much easier. Alternatively, I know the JPG thumbnail for these missions is exposed (inside map_preview dir) - maybe we can just use some number on the JPG, or even a different color would help. More advanced would be printing first few chars of the mission onto the JPG. Actually it could be the same thumbnail I see in the HUB. What do you think?
No we can’t do that, otherwise it would be done already.
Solutions:
- use iPhone or iPad, everything can be transferred there, you can even create new flights, delete, etc you have full access. Remember you can also use DJI’s cloud sync to sync your iPhone/iPad flights to your other android devices depending on your country (not available in the US I believe)
- if you don’t have iPhone or iPad or don’t want to use them, then you should create a dummy just before exporting your flight. You can even create one dummy, then tap on “Save as” as many times as you need to to create several dummies, then export your flights from Litchi Hub straight after. If you follow this workflow, the preview image will update correctly in DJI Fly and will display the Litchi flight name, and also because you just created the dummies, they will be at the top.

For some reason the thumbnail didn’t show with old missions, despite overwritten. Creating a new one helped. Also tried deleting map_preview contents and that didn’t really help - only the thumbs from the HUB disappeared and the old ones remained in the controller. Weird, I guess the cache them somewhere else.
Yes DJI Fly annoyingly caches the preview images. When you create a new dummy, the preview image is not cached as long as you do not reload the dummy flight inside DJI Fly. In this scenario, Litchi Hub’s preview image update will work as intended.

HI. I’m using a Mini 5 Pro and RC2. Followed the tutorial(s) on how to use the Litchi Hub and created a new test waypoint mission at https://hub.flylitchi.com. Once I had simulated the flight to check it was right I clicked on the “DJI“ icon to upload it to my controller. The bridge was working and the controller connected and recognized. The upload seemed fine so (after first creating a dummy waypoint mission) I could see the newly uploaded mission. I copied the dummy mission’s name and then renamed it to something else. Then I renamed the Litchi generated mission to the dummy missions file name. This all seemed to go without error.
Back at the controller I chose “waypoints“ and expanded the missions. I selected the new mission but it only shows 2 waypoints where it should show 9.
I’m not sure if this would change with the mini 5 pro actually connected to the controller or whether I have done something wrong here that has failed to upload the actual new mission.
Any assistance is very welcome.
Looks like your dummy mission (created on the RC 2) was NOT overwritten.
After creating the dummy mission on the RC 2, go back to the Home screen of the RC 2, then press the “Upload” icon in the Hub (the “DJI” icon doesn’t do anything when the Mini 5 Pro is selected as drone model).
Then try again without all the renaming stuf.
(You rename an overwritten flight on the RC 2 itself)

I have a DJI Mini 5 Pro and RC-N3 controller. I am trying to transfer my kmz files to a phone. Litchi Hub bridge fails on 2 phones (Samsung s20+ and OnePlus 12). I have tried many file manager apps on the phones but none give access to the Android/Data directory to copy manually. Is there any solution?
