DJI Air 2S + RC-N1 + Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (Android 16 / One UI 8) – Litchi requires USB reconnect to connect and intermittently reports "Aircraft not connected to RC"

Hello Litchi Support Team,

I would like to report an issue that started only after upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. My previous Android phone worked correctly with the same drone, controller and Litchi workflow.

Equipment

  • Aircraft: DJI Air 2S
  • Remote Controller: DJI RC-N1
  • Mobile Device: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
  • Operating System: Android 16 (One UI 8 - latest available update)
  • Litchi Version: 5.0.2G
  • DJI Fly: Latest available version
  • USB Cable: New high-quality USB-C data cable

Normal workflow

Before every flight I perform a pre-flight check using DJI Fly:

  1. Connect the phone to the RC-N1 via USB.
  2. Turn on the RC-N1.
  3. Turn on the Air 2S.
  4. Open DJI Fly.
  5. Verify GPS, Home Point, IMU, compass, batteries, RTH altitude and all flight settings.
  6. Close DJI Fly.
  7. Open Litchi.

Issue #1 – Litchi does not connect unless I reconnect the USB cable

After closing DJI Fly and opening Litchi, the application does not recognize the aircraft.

The only way to establish the connection is to:

  • Physically disconnect the USB cable from the phone.
  • Reconnect the USB cable.

Immediately after reconnecting the USB cable, Litchi detects the aircraft and works normally.

This happens every time.

Is this expected behavior, or should Litchi be able to take control of the DJI SDK connection without reconnecting the USB cable?

Issue #2 – Intermittent “Aircraft not connected to RC” warnings

During today’s flight, Litchi displayed the warning:

Aircraft not connected to RC

The warning appeared multiple times during the same flight.

Important observations:

  • Litchi did not crash.
  • The aircraft was approximately 1–2 meters away.
  • The aircraft was hovering or climbing slowly.
  • This was not a long-distance flight.
  • The warning disappeared and then appeared again several times.

Additional observations

  • DJI Fly has never shown this behavior.
  • DJI Fly maintains a completely stable connection.
  • The issue only occurs in Litchi.
  • The issue started only after changing to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
  • The USB cable has already been replaced with a new one.
  • The RC-N1 and Air 2S firmware are up to date.
  • DJI Fly and Litchi are both updated to their latest available versions.

Questions

  1. Is this a known compatibility issue with Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Android 16 / One UI 8, or the current DJI SDK?
  2. Is there a recommended procedure to switch from DJI Fly to Litchi without physically reconnecting the USB cable?
  3. Are there any recommended Android settings (USB, battery optimization, permissions, etc.) for Samsung devices?
  4. Is this behavior already known and scheduled to be addressed in a future Litchi update?

Thank you very much for your support.

I have the same issues with my Air2S and my Samsun S25+. It needs a reconnection before controls/video will work, especially with the Dronelink product. It may be a quirk of the Samsung Android OS and external USB controllers.

Hello, I’m following up on my previous post.

Litchi still does not connect after closing DJI Fly unless I unplug and reconnect the USB cable. Is there any recommended Android or USB setting to avoid having to disconnect the cable every time?

Thanks.

Don’t open dji fly, go straight into litchi

Hi Martin, thank you for the suggestion. We have already tried opening Litchi directly without opening DJI Fly first, along with several other troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, the issue still persists: Litchi connects briefly, but then immediately shows a signal loss.

Do you know why the Litchi support team has not responded to the case yet?

Hello Litchi Support Team,

I am following up on the issue I previously reported regarding signal loss shortly after connecting Litchi to my DJI Air 2S with the RC-N1 controller and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

We have already tried opening Litchi directly without opening DJI Fly first, along with several other troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, the issue still persists: Litchi connects briefly, but then immediately shows a signal loss.

Could you please review the case and provide an update? We would appreciate your assistance, as we have not yet received a response.

Best regards,

José David Barrientos

All android phones behave differently.
We don’t have a S26 so cannot comment on that specific phone.
It’s recommended that you try a different device to see if the S26 is the issue.

Make sure you do follow these connection steps:

  1. Make sure no DJI-based apps (including DJI Fly, DJI Go and other third party apps) are running in the background. If there are any, close them
  2. If you have another app (such as DJI Fly or DJI Go) set as the default app to launch when you connect the remote controller, you will need to clear the defaults for that app: go to mobile device Settings - Apps - DJI Go (or other app name) - Clear Defaults. Some devices automatically set the app you start as default, so this step may have to be done every time you want to switch app (for example from DJI Fly to Litchi and vice versa)
  3. Start your drone and remote controller, and let them initialize for a few seconds
  4. Connect the remote controller to the mobile device.
  5. You will see a popup asking which app to start, select Litchi in the popup to initiate connection
